Wet concrete spatter can quickly build up on tools, machinery and nearby surfaces, creating extra cleaning, maintenance and avoidable damage. Prime Anti Crete is a specially formulated protective coating that forms a barrier between wet concrete and the surface underneath, helping stop concrete from bonding where it should not.
Applied before a pour, it helps protect equipment and surrounding property. After the job, the coating and concrete residue can be rinsed away with water for faster clean-up.
What Is Prime Anti Crete?
Prime Anti Crete is a ready-to-use protective coating for equipment and surfaces exposed to wet concrete. It is designed to prevent concrete spatter from adhering, making washdown easier and helping reduce hardened build-up over time.
With regular use, it can help reduce maintenance and extend the service life of tools and machinery. On smooth surfaces, the manufacturer's Technical Data Sheet states coverage of up to 40 m² per litre.

What You'll Need
- Prime Anti Crete
- Solvent-resistant sprayer, roller, brush or mop
- Hose, brush or pressure cleaner for washdown
- Appropriate gloves, eye protection and protective clothing
Sprayer note: Prime Exposure recommends a solvent-resistant spray unit, ideally fitted with Viton seals. Anti Crete is solvent-based and may affect standard sprayer seals. If another sprayer is used, rinse it thoroughly with water immediately after application. Browse our sprayer range.
Step-by-Step Application Guide
Step 1 — Prepare the Surface
Ensure the surface or equipment is dry and free from dust before application. Prime Anti Crete may also be applied over light existing concrete build-up, where its active ingredients can help loosen deposits over time.
Step 2 — Apply an Even Protective Coat
Apply Prime Anti Crete evenly using a suitable sprayer, roller, brush or mop. Cover all areas likely to be exposed to wet concrete or concrete spatter.
Do not dilute. Adding water, diesel or fuel oil reduces the product's effectiveness.
Step 3 — Allow the Coating to Protect During the Job
Once applied, the coating forms a protective barrier that helps prevent wet concrete from bonding to the treated surface. If the coating is washed away by rain before the pour, allow the surface to dry and reapply.
Step 4 — Wash Down Within 24 Hours
For the best result, wash treated equipment and surfaces with a hose, brush or pressure cleaner within 24 hours. The concrete residue and protective coating should rinse away with water.
Depending on the surface type, the active ingredients may continue providing protection for longer; however, prompt washdown gives the most reliable clean-up.
Step 5 — Dry and Reapply
After washing, allow the surface to dry and reapply Prime Anti Crete before the next exposure to wet concrete. Daily application after equipment washdowns is recommended for ongoing protection.
Protecting Windows, Colorbond and Fixtures
Prime Anti Crete is especially useful when a pour is close to windows, Colorbond fencing, staircases and other finished fixtures. Treating these smooth surfaces before work begins helps prevent concrete spatter from sticking and reduces the risk of property damage or time-consuming clean-up.
When the product is thoroughly washed away with water, it will not affect later painting or finishing.
